I am always interested in finding new music. To understand some of the kinds of music I do, please look at the programs described in Concerts of American Music. While I do not perform exclusively American music, that has been a focus of mine for many years. I am a lyric soprano with a full, mature sound and I most often program pieces that have a good literary basis and direct emotional appeal. I am currently looking for a pianist who is interested in performing recitals of American art song and chamber music. My dear friend and much respected colleague, Marc Peloquin, with whom I have been working for several years has decided to focus his attention on his solo playing and so, wishing him the very best, I am now seeking a new partner in my Concerts of American Music.

As you can see from the sample programs and other concerts described under recent performances, this pianist will need to have considerable experience in modern techniques and considerable experience working with singers. Other programs I have done (and wish to do again) and programs I am now developing will involve some speaking, acting and maybe even singing from the pianist.

I’m looking for a very strong player who enjoys being a real partner in a performance and who is willing to put in the time to create detailed, high quality concerts often involving the premieres of new works. Experience dealing with composers is also a plus.
